Monday, January 14

  • Parent-Tot Class, 9:00 – 11:00am (not held Jan. 21)
    Open to the public, this FREE weekly class for children up to 24-months in age and their parent(s) is a great way to meet other parents, exchange experiences, and provide an opportunity for the children to play together and engage in age-appropriate activities. We also read a book from PJ Library twice a month. Facilitator: Lindsey Embree. Various experts from different fields of child development and child-care will visit occasionally to share their expertise and provide opportunities for discussions. Feel free to bring your friends; it’s open to everyone! (PLEASE NOTE: We have a mandatory vaccination policy.) For more information, contact Nancy Auslander.
  • Open Mah Jongg Play – Mondays, 10:00am-12:00pm (not held Jan. 21)

  • Talmud on Tuesday, 6:00pm
    The Talmud is an extensive compilation of teachings and opinions of thousands of rabbis over the centuries, covering matters of Jewish law, ethics, philosophy, history, customs, and more. We are currently studying Tractate Shabbat. Learn about the law and lore in the Talmud with Rabbi Robert Eisen as we dig deep into living Judaism. Open to all. No charge to attend.

Wednesday, January 16

  • “Gentle Chair Yoga” – Wednesdays, 9:30–10:30am
    Focus is on increased balance, strength and flexibility in a supportive group setting. Meditation and deep relaxation at end of each class leaves participants with positive healing energy and uplifted spirits. Dress comfortably.   • Weekday Torah Study Group – Wednesdays, 11:00am
    Informal and lively study discussion led by Rabbi Robert Eisen. (Occasionally lay-led.) Open to all. No charge to attend.​

Friday, January 18

  • “BOGO” Family Shabbat Service & Dinner, service 5:45pm, dinner 7:00pm
    For each family that brings a Jewish family who has not experienced these services and/or dinners with us before, we’ll cover the cost of dinner for the host family and their guests! At this service, we welcome Shabbat with rhythm, movement, ruach and song. Pick up a percussive instrument and show your ruach! Then we share Shabbat dinner, followed by Open Lounge in the Linda Roy Youth Center with games and fun. Let us share the spirit of SHABBAT and help others live their Judaism together… with us. “BOGO” Price: Bring a Jewish family who have not experienced this Shabbat dinner, both families FREE. Otherwise: Dinner $25 per family (two adults & up to 4 children) for CAI members; guest family $30; adults (13+) $10 per person. RSVP needed for dinner only by Jan. 14.

Saturday, January 19 Shabbat Shira

  • Shabbat Shira: The Sabbath of Song, 9:00am
    Come learn new melodies at this musical Shabbat featuring CAI’s Adult and Youth Choirs (all K-6th Grade Religious School students will participate) directed by Cantorial Soloist Nichole Chorny during a special sermon-in-song, “Sounds of Freedom: Exodus in Song.” Throughout the service you will hear some new melodies to familiar prayers and explore some of the varied repertoire of our heritage. Come sing with us!
  • Shabbat’s Cool, 9:00am
    All families are invited to join us for this child-friendly Shabbat program. This service, led by and for kids of all ages, includes the reading and exploration of Torah; with a parallel learning session for parents 9:30-10:15am. Youth later have time to play outside & enjoy Shabbat lunch. For more information, contact Rabbi Barkan.

  • Junior Congregation, 10:30am
    Join us for this teen-led Shabbat service for kids of all ages that includes a Torah service so the youth can take ownership of the service. For more information, contact Rabbi Barkan.

  • Shabbat Afternoon Torah Study, 3:45pm
    Open to all, this is an opportunity to become more involved in “living Judaism.” Lay-led. No charge to attend. Torah Portion: Beshallah
