  • Targum Shlishi with Special Guests, 12:00pm
We are taught to read the Torah Portion of the week, each week, twice: In/From the Torah text (Shnayim Mikra), and again in translation (Targum Shlishi) to ensure that we understand both the form and the function of Torah – what it teaches, and how it can be applied.
Following the Kiddush, six Southern Arizona firefighters recently returned from Israel will be our guests to share their experiences as part of Firefighters Beyond Borders. While there, they worked with their Israeli partners on the evolving threat of wildland and urban firefighting. After training, they explored Israel’s history, culture and food. No charge to attend.
  • Shabbat Afternoon Torah Study, 4:00pm
Open to all, this is an opportunity to become more involved in “living Judaism.” Lay-led. No charge to attend. Torah Portion: Yitro

Sunday, January 27

  • Religious School, 9:00am

  • Prayerbook Boot Camp, 9:15am
Learn about the form and function of our SHABBAT Morning Service. We’ll look at the structure of the service, as well as the meaning (“intention”) of the more significant sections. There is a reason why we refer to our prayerbook as a SIDDUR (which means “order”) … and that “reason” was never meant to be a secret. Join us and turn all those things you find yourself wondering about into a greater sense of wonder! No charge to attend.
