Monday, May 7

  • Parent-Tot Class, 9:00 – 11:00am
    Open to the public, this FREE weekly class for children up to 24-months in age and their parent(s) is a great way to meet other parents, exchange experiences, and provide an opportunity for the children to play together and engage in age-appropriate activities. We also read a book from PJ Library twice a month. Facilitated by Amanda Stark, various experts from different fields of child development and child-care will visit occasionally to share their expertise and provide opportunities for discussions.   • Open Mah Jongg Play, 10:00am-12:00pm

  • Women's Study Group, 12:00pm
    Rabbi Robert Eisen leads these monthly group sessions using The Five Books of Miriam: A Woman’s Commentary on the Torah as the core for discussion. Topics can be interesting, insightful & inspiring. No charge to attend. Bring your own dairy lunch; beverages & dessert provided.

  • B'nai Mitzvah Class, 4:00pm

  • Synagogue Life Council Meeting, 7:00pm

Tuesday, May 8

  • Talmud on Tuesday, 6:00pm
    The Talmud is an extensive compilation of teachings and opinions of thousands of rabbis over the centuries, covering matters of Jewish law, ethics, philosophy, history, customs, and more. We are currently studying Tractate Shabbat. Learn about the law and lore in the Talmud with Rabbi Robert Eisen as we dig deep into living Judaism. Open to all. No charge to attend.

Wednesday, May 9

  • “Gentle Chair Yoga” – Wednesdays, 9:30–10:30am
    Focus is on increased balance, strength and flexibility in a supportive group setting. Meditation and deep relaxation at end of each class leaves participants with positive healing energy and uplifted spirits. Dress comfortably. Members of Women’s League: $6 per class; non-members $8 per class. For more information, contact Evelyn.

  • Weekday Torah Study Group, 11:00am
    Informal and lively study discussion led by Rabbi Robert Eisen. (Occasionally lay-led.) Open to all. No charge to attend.

  • Senior USY, 6:00pm. For Jewish children grades 9 thru 12. For more information, contact Rabbi Barkan.

Saturday, May 12

  • Shabbat’s Cool, 9:00am
    All families are invited to join us for this child-friendly Shabbat program, including a parallel session for parents 9:30-10:15am. Youth will learn the Torah service, play outside & enjoy Shabbat lunch.  For more information, contact Rabbi Barkan.
  • Junior Congregation, 10:30am
    Join us for this teen-led Shabbat service for kids of all ages that includes a Torah service so the youth can take ownership of the service.

  • Farewell Kiddush, approx. 12:00pm
    Share a special Kiddush after Shabbat service or Junior Congregation to say farewell to Preschool/Kindergarten Director Lynne Falkow-Strauss, who is retiring after 47 years. Help us give her a heartfelt Mazal Tov and L’Hitraot. For more information, contact Debra.

  • Shabbat Afternoon Torah Study, 5:15pm
    Open to all, this is an opportunity to become more involved in “living Judaism.” Lay-led. No charge to attend. Torah portion: Behar & Behukkotai
  • Gesher Ceremony, 6:15pm
    Join us for a special Gesher (bridge) Ceremony, during which 7th and 8th grade students will reflect upon and celebrate their experience in our synagogue community as they prepare to take the next step in their Jewish learning and lives. Throughout the evening, the students will share their personal stories about their Religious School experiences in addition to leading us in services.
