    CAI will open its doors to the Tucson Jewish community as an opportunity to showcase the warmth and tradition that has been its hallmark for 86 years. We want to make it easy for everyone to come pray, but for security reasons we ask that you provide ID at the door.

Wednesday, October 5 Fast of Gedalia

  • "Gentle Chair Yoga" – Wednesdays, 9:30-10:30am
    Focus is on increased balance, strength and flexibility in a supportive group setting. Meditation and deep relaxation at end of each class leaves participants with positive healing energy and uplifted spirits. Dress comfortably.   • Tot Shabbat, service 5:45pm in Sanctuary; dinner 6:15pm
    Special Kabbalat Shabbat Service for young families to welcome the Sabbath with stories and songs, followed by kid-friendly Shabbat dinner. $25 per family (2 adults & up to 4 children). Additional adults $10 per person. Contact Kim for space availability.

Saturday, October 8 Shabbat Shuvah

  • "Read It & Meet" Book Discussion, approx. 12:00pm
    The book selection is In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume. Book discussions are held once a month and are open to everyone. We discuss selected books by Jewish authors or with Jewish content, and share our experiences, reactions, and ideas. Moderators facilitate each discussion. For more information, contact Vicki.

  • Shabbat Afternoon Torah Study, 3:45pm
    Open to all, this is an opportunity to become more involved in “living Judaism.” Lay-led. No charge to attend. Torah Portion: Vayelekh

Sunday, October 9

  • Religious School, 9:00am
  • Tashlich at the Park, 4:00pm, at Reid Park Ramada 7 (22nd & Country Club)
    Symbolically “cast away” your sins as the Jewish New Year begins. Enjoy an educational program for learners of all ages to reflect upon the themes of the season. Bring the whole family and participate in this meaningful experience. Refreshments provided. No charge; however, reservations are needed by Oct. 5 to Kim.
