Simhat Torah Celebrations 10-19

Community Simhat Torah Dinner & CelebrationMonday, Oct. 21, 5:30pm
Bring the whole family! You're invited to enjoy dinner of salmon & fish sticks; pasta bar with choice of tomato, alfredo & pesto sauces; salad; fresh fruit; and Hershey bars for dessert in CAI’s sukkah with "Simcha" Sangria for adults and lemonade for the kids; followed at 6:13pm by a joyous Hakafot with Israeli dancing with the Torah, & a guided tour from Creation to Mt. Sinai as the Torah is completely unrolled to encircle all who attend, followed with delicious ice cream bar, coffee & tea. The celebration is free; dinner including alcohol – CAI Members: adults $10; kids (2+) $5; guests: adults $15; kids (2+) $10. Please RSVP by Oct. 16.

Simhat Torah Celebration & LunchTuesday, Oct. 2, 9:00am
Come and continue the celebration with another round of dancing and Torah!
9:00am – The service begins in the Epstein Chapel for adults. Along with our regular service, family activities include:

  • 9:30am – A family celebration with singing & dancing for children will be held in the Cantor Falkow Lounge.
  • 10:00am – Hakafot in the Epstein Chapel: The Sifrey Torah are taken out of the Ark, and the children parade behind, then go up on the Bimah and are blessed.
  • 10:30am – – In the Rabbi Breger Hall, our new shinshinim will join us for a creative Torah presentation, followed by our “Triple Bar” lunch: salad, potato and ice cream “bars” with all the fixin’s!

The celebration & lunch are free; however, RSVP is required for lunch by Oct. 16.
