Monday, August 28

  • Parent-Tot Class, 9:00 – 11:00am; continuing Mondays, 9:00 – 11:00am
    Open to the public, this FREE weekly class for children up to 24-months in age and their parent(s) is a great way to meet other parents, exchange experiences, and provide an opportunity for the children to play together and engage in age-appropriate activities. We also read a book from PJ Library twice a month. Facilitated by Amanda Stark, various experts from different fields of child development and child-care will visit occasionally to share their expertise and provide opportunities for discussions. Wednesday, August 30

  • “Gentle Chair Yoga” – Wednesdays, 9:30–10:30am
    Focus is on increased balance, strength and flexibility in a supportive group setting. Meditation and deep relaxation at end of each class leaves participants with positive healing energy and uplifted spirits. Dress comfortably.   • Adult Education Kollel (Class): “Living Y/Our High Holy Days… Together” – continuing Wednesdays, Aug. 30 & Sept. 6, 7:00-8:00pm
    Aug. 30: Rabbi Ruven Barkan presents “This is Real and You Are Completely Unprepared” – A discussion of Rabbi Alan Lew’s book about spiritual transformation
    Sept. 6: Rabbi Robert Eisen presents “Bound to Wonder! The Binding of Isaac as Told by Josephus” – Why it and the story as a whole matters

Friday, Sept. 1

  • Tot Shabbat, service 5:45pm in Sanctuary; dinner 6:15pm
    Special Kabbalat Shabbat Service for young families to welcome the Sabbath with stories and songs, followed by kid-friendly Shabbat dinner. $25 per family (2 adults & up to 4 children). Additional adults $10 per person. RSVP by Aug. 28 to Kim.

Saturday, Sept. 2

  • Shabbat Afternoon Torah Study, 4:30pm
