By Debra Lytle - Friday, March 24th, 2017

Monday, March 27

  • Parent-Tot Class – Mondays, 9:00 – 11:00am
Open to the public, this FREE weekly class for children up to 24-months in age and their parent(s) is a great way to meet other parents, exchange experiences, and provide an opportunity for the children to play together and engage in age-appropriate activities. We also read a book from PJ Library twice a month. Facilitated by Gabby Erbst, various experts from different fields of child development and child-care will visit to share their expertise and provide opportunities for discussions. Feel free to bring your friends; it’s open to everyone! (PLEASE NOTE: We have a mandatory vaccination policy.) For more information, call Lynne Falkow-Strauss.

  • Open Mah Jongg Play – Mondays, 10:00am – 12:00pm
All levels welcome. Men are welcome, too. Come join the fun! For more information, contact Evelyn.

The Talmud is an extensive compilation of teachings and opinions of thousands of rabbis over the centuries, covering matters of Jewish law, ethics, philosophy, history, customs, and more. We are currently studying Tractate Megillah. Learn about the law and lore in the Talmud with Rabbi Robert Eisen as we dig deep into living Judaism. Open to all. No charge to attend.

Friday, March 31

  • Shabbat Under the Stars, 5:45pm
Join us for an intimate Shabbat service on our beautiful Rabbi Arthur Oleisky Courtyard patio (in lieu of the Epstein Chapel). The opportunity to worship outside enables us to better encounter nature, and to remind ourselves that any space can become sacred through the manner in which we use it. Come and help us expand our “worship zone” as we welcome Shabbat and our USY Midbar Kinnus.

Saturday, April 1

  • "Read It & Meet" Book Discussion, approx. 12:00pm
The book selection is The Black Widow by Daniel Silva, with moderator Eric Flank. Book discussions are held once a month and are open to everyone. We discuss selected books by Jewish authors or with Jewish content, and share our experiences, reactions, and ideas. Moderators facilitate each discussion. For more information, contact Rayna.

  • “Live Your Shabbat”! Shabbat Immersion Program, 5:00pm
All youth and their families are invited. We’ll begin with playground time for all ages (swings, monkey bars, basketball, gaga, etc.), followed by USYers leading us in a ruach-filled Mincha, concluding with Third Meal (pizza!) with the congregation, and Havdallah. Express yourself through singing and freeform dancing… it will be a joyous expression of Shabbat! (Religious School will not be held Sunday, April 2.) It’s all free, but please RSVP by Mar. 27 to Kim.

  • Shabbat Afternoon Torah Study, 4:30pm
Open to all, this is an opportunity to become more involved in “living Judaism.” Lay-led. No charge to attend. Torah portion: Vayikra
