Come receive a Jewish blessing for the new year Ethiopian style! Join us as we simulate the special Ethiopian Sigd ceremony that takes place exactly 50 days after Yom Kippur. After learning a special prayer in the Ethiopian language, Gez — led by Leah Avuno, one of our Shinshinim — attendees will ascend the bimah, our “mountain” to receive special blessings from spiritual leaders under colorful umbrellas. We’ll conclude the evening with Ethiopian dishes, music and dance. Open to all; no charge to attend. RSVP requested to Michelle.
