“The Trial of King David” – Wednesdays, Feb. 5 & 12, 7:00pm

Join us for a mock grand jury and trial of King David, accused of voyeurism (David chose to keep his eyes on the alluring image of a married woman, Bathsheba, bathing); adultery (David had sex with Bathsheba, impregnating her); and subsequent murder of her husband, Uriah. David indulged his sensual lusts for years and ignored God’s warnings and ways of escape. He allowed temptation to turn into lust and lust to turn into adultery. When the consequences of his adultery threatened to expose him, he covered it first with deception and then with murder.

Judge: The Honorable Fred Hirsh
Prosecuting Attorney: Jim Whitehill
Defense Attorney: David Polan
Defendant: King David – David Ben-Asher
Bathsheba: Malka Abraham
Nathan: Aaron Leonard
Joab: Joshua Anbar
Moderator: Madeline Friedman

Attendees will act as jury. Educational and fun, this event will be a wonderful discussion of the Talmud. $18 per person (a portion of event proceeds will benefit Southern Arizona Legal Aid Inc.). RSVP here.
