Monday, April 9

  • Parent-Tot Class, 9:00 – 11:00am
    Open to the public, this FREE weekly class for children up to 24-months in age and their parent(s) is a great way to meet other parents, exchange experiences, and provide an opportunity for the children to play together and engage in age-appropriate activities. We also read a book from PJ Library twice a month. Facilitated by Amanda Stark, various experts from different fields of child development and child-care will visit occasionally to share their expertise and provide opportunities for discussions.     Rabbi Robert Eisen leads these monthly group sessions using The Five Books of Miriam: A Woman’s Commentary on the Torah as the core for discussion. Topics can be interesting, insightful & inspiring. No charge to attend. Bring your own dairy lunch; beverages & dessert provided.

  • Talmud on Tuesday, 6:00pm
    The Talmud is an extensive compilation of teachings and opinions of thousands of rabbis over the centuries, covering matters of Jewish law, ethics, philosophy, history, customs, and more. We are currently studying Tractate Shabbat. Learn about the law and lore in the Talmud with Rabbi Robert Eisen as we dig deep into living Judaism. Open to all. No charge to attend.

Wednesday, April 11

  • “Gentle Chair Yoga” – Wednesdays, 9:30–10:30am
    Focus is on increased balance, strength and flexibility in a supportive group setting. Meditation and deep relaxation at end of each class leaves participants with positive healing energy and uplifted spirits. Dress comfortably.   • Weekday Torah Study Group, 11:00am
    Informal and lively study discussion led by Rabbi Robert Eisen. (Occasionally lay-led.) Open to all. No charge to attend.

Friday, April 13

  • Shabbat Under the Stars, 5:45pm on the Rabbi Arthur Oleisky Courtyard
    The opportunity to worship outside enables us to better encounter nature, and to remind ourselves that any space can become sacred through the manner in which we use it. Come and help us expand our “worship zone” as we welcome Shabbat.

Saturday, April 14

  • Shabbat’s Cool, 9:00am
    All families are invited to join us for this child-friendly Shabbat program, including a parallel session for parents 9:30-10:15am. Youth will learn the Torah service, play outside & enjoy Shabbat lunch. For more information, contact Rabbi Barkan.
     
  • Junior Congregation, 10:30am
    Join us for this teen-led Shabbat service for kids of all ages that includes a Torah service so the youth can take ownership of the service. For more information, contact Rabbi Barkan.
     
  • "Read It & Meet" Book Discussion, approx. 12:00pm
    Book selection: My Own Words by Ruth Bader Ginsburg, with moderator Malka Abraham. Book discussions are held once a month and are open to everyone. We discuss selected books by Jewish authors or with Jewish content, and share our experiences, reactions, and ideas. Moderators facilitate each discussion. For more information, contact Helen.
     
  • Shabbat Afternoon Torah Study, 4:45pm
