Chai Mitzvah – Aug. 27, 2017+

NEW! Chai Mitzvah Adult Education Initiative – The opening session of our Chai Mitzvah Initiative has been postponed … information regarding its rescheduling will be forthcoming. Please accept our apologies.

Monthly, Sundays, Aug. 27, 2017 – Apr. 22, 2018, 9:15 – 10:45am; culminating with a Shabbat service & dinner on Friday, May 11, 2018, 5:45pm/7:00pm

This intergenerational program is for anyone who wants to become more fully engaged in their congregation. Chai Mitzvah combines study, ritual and social action, providing the framework for a meaningful Jewish journey.

There are five components to the nine-month experience:

  • Group Study – monthly sessions
  • Independent Study – choose a Jewish topic you wish to explore
  • Ritual – choose a ritual or spiritual practice to incorporate into your life
  • Social Action – choose a local volunteer opportunity (individually or as a group)
  • Celebrate! – At the end of the program, we will acknowledge your journey, present you with a certificate, and have a tree planted in Israel in your honor through Chai Mitzvah’s partnership with Jewish National Fund.

9-month course CAI members $36; guests $50.
RSVP required. To learn more or to join CAI’s Chai Mitzvah group, contact Rabbi Robert Eisen.
