TEACHERS' CLASSROOM RECAPS:
Kindergarten and 1st Grade – Renee Hulsey

We had a great Sunday at Religious School! We learned the parts of the body from rosh (head) to regalim (feet) and played Shimon Omer, with everyone getting a chance to be Shimon! We also sang some songs and read a book about Israel in honor of Yom HaAtzmaut, Israeli Independence Day. In art we made tzedakah boxes, then continued learning more Hebrew letters. Next week is our last day of Religious School. Please join us at 10:30am for the Talent Show!

2nd Grade – Bryan Gordon
Second grade is wrapping up our use of the New Hebrew Primer and our learning about the Bible stories. We look forward to our class’s Ice Cream and Pizza Party on Sunday, as well as to the Electives Assembly and Talent Show!

3rd Grade – Laura Olesen
The year has gone by so very fast! I have enjoyed our children immensely and will truly miss them over the summer. I’m sure we’ll have a fun day Sunday at our last Religious School day of the year. I am looking forward to seeing all of the talent the kids are bringing and going to share. I think our students have done a wonderful job this year and hope they will continue practicing their Hebrew over the summer. See you this Sunday. I wish everyone a safe and great summer!

4th Grade – Elana Israel
What a truly excellent year! This past week, the 4th Grade wrapped up Judaics by discussing its importance in our daily lives. We talked about our favorite lessons, as well as our feelings about what Judaics means to us as individuals. In Hebrew, we celebrated completing our book, Alef Bet Quest, and began working on Hebrew vocabulary words. Thank you all for the wonderful year!

5th Grade – Courtney DeYoung & Sarah Artzi
It's hard to believe our year is coming to a close and that this is our last weekly update! There are several housekeeping issues to go over to insure that this Sunday, our last day of school, goes smoothly. All students are asked to wear their Religious School t-shirts on Sunday for the End of the Year Assembly and Talent Show. In addition to the school shirts, students will be getting their tie-dye shirts on Sunday to wear for a portion of the assembly. (The tie-dye shirts will be coming home with instructions on how to wash them.) Please make sure that any orchestra students bring their instruments on Sunday. Finally, if you know that your student will not be here on Sunday, please tell us in advance so we can make arrangements to get them their t-shirts and other end-of-year materials. We are truly delighted to have been able to share this year with your children. Thank you for all that you have done to support us.

6th Grade – MeMe Aguila
It’s hard to believe that we have come to the end of another incredible Religious School year.  The 6th Grade continued their presentations even though we were still missing a few. The students got to learn about the impact that American Jews have made, not only in our country, but in the world. In Hebrew, we had fun for the last time with one of our favorite games, “20 Questions,” used to expand our vocabulary and to learn new Hebrew words. On Tuesday, we had a wonderful presentation by the 7th and 8th grade class for Yom HaShoah. I truly hope your students had a great year; it was a pleasure teaching them.

7th – 8th Grade – Sivan Shahmoon
The 7th and 8th Grade class practiced and performed the Holocaust memorial service. Wishing everyone a wonderful summer!
