Monday, August 6

  • Open Mah Jongg Play – Mondays, 10:00am-12:00pm

  • Women's Study Group, 12:00pm
    Rabbi Robert Eisen leads these monthly group sessions using Pirkei Imahot: The Wisdom of Mothers, The Voices of Women as the core for discussion. Each month we will explore the depth of their teaching with an eye to seeing how we might apply their lessons to the breadth of our lives. Volumes of the book will be available at each class session. No charge to attend. Bring your own dairy lunch; beverages & dessert provided.

Tuesday, August 7

  • Talmud on Tuesday, 6:00pm
    The Talmud is an extensive compilation of teachings and opinions of thousands of rabbis over the centuries, covering matters of Jewish law, ethics, philosophy, history, customs, and more. We are currently studying Tractate Shabbat. Learn about the law and lore in the Talmud with Rabbi Robert Eisen as we dig deep into living Judaism. Open to all. No charge to attend.

Wednesday, August 8

  • Weekday Torah Study Group – Wednesdays, 11:00am
    Informal and lively study discussion led by Rabbi Robert Eisen. (Occasionally lay-led.) Open to all. No charge to attend.

Saturday, August 11

  • Junior Congregation, 10:00am
    Join us for this teen-led Shabbat service for kids of all ages that includes a Torah service so the youth can take ownership of the service.
     
  • Welcome Kiddush, approximately 12:00pm after Shabbat service
    All are invited to a special kiddush to welcome you back from the summer break, and to experience the warmth and hospitality of CAI. Meet the Rabbi, Cantorial Soloist, Preschool/Kindergarten Director, Education & Youth Director and Executive Director, as well as members of the Board of Trustees. No charge to attend.
     
  • Shabbat Afternoon Torah Study, 5:15pm
    Open to all, this is an opportunity to become more involved in “living Judaism.” Lay-led. No charge to attend. Torah Portion: Re'eh

Sunday, August 12

  • “Sunrise” Minyan, 7:00am, on the Rabbi Arthur Oleisky Courtyard
    For Elul, the month preceding Rosh Hashanah, the shofar is blown daily except the day before Rosh Hashanah. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own shofar. Light refreshments offered following the service.
     
  • Religious School first day, 9:00am; Tuesdays, Aug. 14-28, 4:00pm; Sunday, Aug. 19, 9:00am
