Monday, October 31

  • Parent-Tot Class – Mondays, 9:00 – 11:00am
    Open to the public, this FREE weekly class for children up to 24-months in age and their parent(s) is a great way to meet other parents, exchange experiences, and provide an opportunity for the children to play together and engage in age-appropriate activities. We also read a book from PJ Library twice a month. Facilitated by Gabby Erbst, various experts from different fields of child development and child-care will visit to share their expertise and provide opportunities for discussions. Feel free to bring your friends; it’s open to everyone! (PLEASE NOTE: We have a mandatory vaccination policy.) For more information, contact Lynne Falkow-Strauss.

  • Talmud on Tuesday, 6:00pm
    The Talmud is an extensive compilation of teachings and opinions of thousands of rabbis over the centuries, covering matters of Jewish law, ethics, philosophy, history, customs, and more. We are currently studying Tractate Megillah. Learn about the law and lore in the Talmud with Rabbi Robert Eisen as we dig deep into living Judaism. Open to all. No charge to attend.

Wednesday, November 2

  • “Gentle Chair Yoga” – Wednesdays, 9:30–10:30am
    Focus is on increased balance, strength and flexibility in a supportive group setting. Meditation and deep relaxation at end of each class leaves participants with positive healing energy and uplifted spirits. Dress comfortably.   • Weekday Torah Study Group – Wednesdays, 11:00am
    Informal and lively study discussion led by Rabbi Robert Eisen. (Occasionally lay-led.) Open to all. No charge to attend.

Friday, November 4

  • Preschool/Kindergarten "Dad & Me" Breakfast, 8:00am
    Children of the preschool/kindergarten & their dads (or grandpas, uncles, etc.) enjoy a breakfast buffet made by the moms. Includes fun activities & a visit from some animals from the Reid Park Zoo. Kids $7; adults $12. RSVP by Oct. 31 to Kim.

  • Tot Shabbat, service 5:45pm in Sanctuary; dinner 6:15pm
    (Hosted by our Kindergarten Class Gan Yeladim) Special Kabbalat Shabbat Service for young families to welcome the Sabbath with stories and songs, followed by kid-friendly Shabbat dinner. $25 per family (2 adults & up to 4 children). Additional adults $10 per person. RSVP by Oct. 31 to Kim.

Saturday, November 5

  • Shabbat School: Parents & Children Experiencing Shabbat Together, 9:00am
    All youth Pre-K (4 & 5-year-olds) through 12th Grade & their parents are welcome to participate in any part of the program. Join us 9:00-11:45am in the Epstein Chapel for Shabbat learning experiences for all ages, followed at 11:45am-1:00pm in the Cantor Falkow Lounge by a Family lunch and “Shabbat is Cool” playground time. (Free babysitting for 18 months thru 3-year-olds). Adults $10; child $5. RSVP to Kim.

  • "Read It & Meet" Book Discussion, approx. 12:00pm
    The book selection is The Best Place on Earth by Ayelet Tsabari. Book discussions are held once a month and are open to everyone. We discuss selected books by Jewish authors or with Jewish content, and share our experiences, reactions, and ideas. Moderators facilitate each discussion. For more information, contact Vicki.
