Religious School Parent Bulletin December 13, 2013

It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Torah Dedication on Sunday and so nice to come together as a community. Your children will get to read from that Torah at their Bar/Bat Mitzvot!

If your students have taken home art projects as part of the art elective, please bring them back this coming Sunday so that we can showcase them in our Electives Assembly.

This is the last bulletin until we return from Winter Break. Wishing everyone a wonderful, warm secular New Year!

TEACHERS' CLASSROOM RECAPS:
Kindergarten – Renee Hulsey
The kindergartners had a great time at the Torah Dedication on Sunday! They enjoyed the three learning stations, watching the last few letters of the Torah being scribed and the dedication ceremony. This Sunday we will be back to learning letters and having fun. Don't forget that we are still collecting tzedakkah.

1st Grade – Nancy Auslander
The Torah Dedication this week was a real treat. The children enjoyed decorating their own yads and practicing writing Hebrew letters with a feather and "ink." But the real honor was getting to see a Torah open, and witnessing the last words being written: a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen through their contributions and time to ensure Mitzvah 613 became a reality for CAI.

3rd Grade – Laura Olesen
What a wonderful day we had on Sunday to celebrate our Torah Dedication. The children enjoyed all the stations for calligraphy, yad making, and Torah, and the kids did a beautiful job singing! This week, we completed our Israel Scavenger Hunt book in Judaics, and the students enjoyed Hebrew re-enforcement using their Hebrew computer program. Good job with Tefillah, too!

4th Grade – Elana Israel
In Hebrew we played Hangman, introduced Resh, and finished page 20 in the Aleph Bet Quest. In Judaics, we read through to page 94 and discussed the questions at the bottom.
